Vanda Torous

Dr. Vanda Torous is a pathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston Massachusetts
where she also serves as the director of quality assurance and improvement in cytopathology.
Dr. Torous completed her AP/CP residency and fellowships in breast pathology and
cytopathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center before joining the staff at MGH. Her
principal clinical interests include gynecologic cytopathology and infectious disease pathology.
Her research focuses on optimizing the use of cytology and small biopsy specimens including
resource utilization and ongoing quality improvement measures with an eye towards patient
safety. Dr. Torous sits on the editorial boards of multiple journals and serves on multiple
national committees including chairing the American Society of Cytopathology Program
Directors Committee. She enjoys teaching residents and fellows as well as sharing her passion
for pathology with others.
