Pathologist.

Dr. Matthew Cecchini MD, PhD, FRCPC, joined the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in July 2020 as an Anatomical Pathologist. Dr. Cecchini’s clinical interests include pulmonary, head and neck and molecular pathology; his research activities are translational and clinically-oriented with a particular focus on interstitial lung disease, utilization of digital pathology, and molecular testing in lung and head and neck cancers. Other research interests include medical education and development of online pathology education. Dr. Cecchini completed a Fellowship in Pulmonary Pathology at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) and is an alumni of our residency training program. Dr. Cecchini is one of the co-founders of PathElective.
